“It is beautiful to have the Heroine’s Journey of going through the trials and tribulations, going through the dark places, and then coming out the other side. It’s like a giant gorgeous circle.” ~ Taryn Hughes
Taryn Hughes shares her courageous trauma narrative of childhood sexual abuse, at the age of 8, and her journey along the winding road towards healing. Survivors of childhood sexual abuse experience an array of overwhelming and distressing feelings. They may feel significant fear, powerlessness, shame, and display a wide range of psychological symptoms, both short- and long-term. Often stepping out of the shadows of silence, being vulnerable, and allowing others to see painful psychological wounds (past or present) is the most challenging, but brave, leap towards recovery. — Thank you for the privilege and trust to share your story, to be seen, and provide HOPE for other trauma survivors.

“I know there is someone who needs to hear this today; someone who can’t see past the pain of this moment, someone who’s child has been suffering in silence, someone who needs a map marking the first step towards a brighter future. If you’ve lost hope, hang on, things do get better. Talk to someone. Your story is not meant to be held alone.” ~ Taryn Hughes
